After we had visited the Asa Wright National Park we have the very short way to the Bay made Scotland, where we were three days before the anchor. The Scotland Bay is a deep and very sheltered bay in the north-west Trinidad. Here we have again taken a Norwegian couple, we einklarieren a few days earlier, when met in Tobago had. With the dinghy we have explored the beach and the bay from there. There are parrots, monkeys, turtles and various species of birds you usually only hear but can not see. In the evening we met with the two Norwegians and two other sailors on the beach for a campfire and the next day we went to the coffee party with homemade apple pie with Bernhard, a German solo sailors invited on board. The days in the Bay Scotland were really nice, so we will sail again this afternoon, there to have a night to anchor in the bay before we begin tomorrow on the way to Curacao.
before yesterday and yesterday we are on the island Chacachacare, a former leper colony, had been at anchor. The colony was founded by nuns, brothers and existed from 1920 to 1984, today the island is uninhabited. After leaving the island, the homes of forest are overgrown and partially collapsed already, but we find much before as it was then abandoned. We are all day climbing through the ruins and rummaging, Karnkenhaus, pharmacy, residential buildings, the monastery, everything was still good to know. A truly fascinating place with an interesting history.
